With the Revision of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive ambitious targets, new opportunitites for plastics firms recycling are within reach. There are also opportunities in the agricultural films sector. However, treatment of this type of waste demands great expertise. Thinner films, multilayer products and inter-polymer substitution means that film recycling companies have to adapt.

The Films Working Group develops contacts at EU level in order to cope with this application future challenges (collection & statistics, production & technologies, qualities & applications).

It will also initiate business development for films recycling in areas where infrastructure is lacking (by looking for subsidies, informing authorities..).
